Philadelphia Flames Soccer Club

 NOTES:

• Our starting time for Home league matches has been moved to 2:30pm from 3:00pm.
• NJ State Cup and the Womens National Cup competitions will start the first week of November.  These will bump any other match scheduled that day.
• Our division is playing a split season, which means that the first half will be in Fall 2009 and the season finishes in Spring 2010.
• We are hosting in the first round of the State Cup tournament.  Opponent is NJ Boca, November 1, 2009, 2:30pm at Whomsley Field.  Winner advances to the next round vs NJ Lions.

*We now have 2 teams in the 8v8 Wed night league.  u23 is Flames SC #2 and most games are at 8:45pm.  

Players may still guest play with Flames SC #1 as needed.

 Scrimmages 

We went to the Battle on the Beach tournament on May 2 & 3.  Unfortunately three of our players dropped out the day before the tournament.  We went 4-0 on Saturday and ended up the regular schedule in 1st Place! 

The four matches the previous day took their toll on Sunday.  We played the winner of the first round match, but the 2nd place team lucked out when their opponent forfeited.  So we ended up playing a match, then immediately going into the Championship Match against a rested opponent.  Kayla Erianne, our F'N Ninja Attack Dog Goalkeeper, was like a wall all match, and we were up 1-0 at the half.  Towson snuck one in to even the score with 10 left in the 2nd half.  With time about to expire in OT, Towson got a break and scored on a rebound directly in front of the net.  Tired legs from a shortage of subs did us in.

Everybody had a great time, and we look forward to a return trip to the Championship next year.

The Semi-Final & Final Rounds of the State Cup will be in the Spring 2009.
